Overview

The Jewish Outreach Program Manager is responsible for growing family & youth involvement in Jewish programming at the Trager Family JCC.  The ideal candidate will inspire excellence, provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment where families and children from preschool to teens can participate and have fun, develop life-long relationships, build skills and cultivate a love for Israel and Jewish traditions through a variety of activities.  This position is a year-round position that takes an active leadership role with PJ Library, Hillel, Club J and Camp J. As a part of the Jewish Journeys team, this position will work collaboratively with the other members of the department (Sr. Director of Jewish Journeys and Experiences, Camp Director, Youth Program Director, Assistant Camp Director, Teen Director) and will develop relationships with youth and families.  This position will report to the Sr. Director of Jewish Journeys and Experiences.

Job Skills / Requirements

Duties

·       Create year round programming for Jewish families to engage in PJ Library
·       Maintain PJ Library list and update as needed
·       Collaborate with PJ Library Parent Connectors to create and market programs
·       Create meaningful Judaic and educational programming, to inspire and support the Camp, Youth and Families department and the Trager Family JCC
·       Work with the Camp Director on the following for Camp J 
o   Development of Jewish program content for different age/camper groups
o   Help to implement desired format of summer camp to ensure all campers have an excellent experience
o   Assist with staffing, including, hiring, supervision and evaluation of full time and part time staff, and/or contracted staff
·       Help with youth programming events
·       Work with the Yachad camper inclusion program and shares the belief that all youth can participate and be successful.
·       Take a lead in communicating with families throughout the year.
·       Assist in the development of annual budgets and create program specific budgets as directed
·       Work with the JCC Marketing Department to develop marketing plans and materials to attract registrants for programming.

Bachelor's Degree

·       Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, Judaic studies, social services, recreation, or related field 
·       Knowledge, skills and ability to engage youth and families
·       Experience in developing programming for children, youth and families
·       Strong written/oral communication skills and customer service skills
·       Ability to use Microsoft office suite and willingness to learn additional programming platforms
·       Jewish education/camp experience preferred
