As a key member of our Kids Club team, Attendants are responsible for assisting with the overall Kids Club atmosphere, the activities, the development and nurturing of each child to their full potential and genuine communication with parents and other Kids Club staff. Job Skills / Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • PASSION FOR WORKING WITH SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN!!
  • Minimum age - 18 years old (preferred)
  • Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values.
  • Previous child care or group work experience preferred.
  • Must be enrolled in High School or possess a High School Diploma or an equivalent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Uphold the mission of the YMCA, and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.
  • Possess the willingness of 100% COMMITMENT in actively engaging with school-age children both indoors and outdoors and have FUN!
  • Lead group activities and assist with homework
  • Maintains positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff
  • Knows, understands, and consistently applies all safety rules
  • Attends all trainings and staff meetings as assigned
  • Completes required abuse risk management training. Adheres to policies and procedures in managing high-risk activities and appropriate boundaries of supervision. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations to supervisor. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements to authorities.
  • Complete free CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Climbing, sitting, standing, pushing, walking, kneeling, and stooping
  • Tolerate heat and humidity for extended periods of time
  • Exposure to swimming pools
  • Noise level- High 
  • Ability to communicate verbally, including projecting your voice across a distance in normal & loud situations.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
STARTING SALARY:  $12.00+/hourly   


Education Requirements (Any)

Must be enrolled in high school OR possess a high school diploma or its equivalent

This is a Part-Time position 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 6:30am-8:30am and 2:00pm-6pm.
