Job Skills / Requirements
Responsible for a variety of tasks involving patient prescriptions and their accurate processing in a digital environment.
- Assist health care providers and patients in person and by phone; answer questions and requests; refer inquiries to pharmacist. Must have excellent computer skills.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verify receipts; removing outdated drugs.
- Prepares medication orders for the pharmacist to dispense by reading prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; counting and filling medication orders appropriately.
- Maintains records by documenting and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
Education Requirements (Any)
High school graduate or Equivalent (GED)
Certification Requirements (Any)
Certified Pharmacy Technician
