Job Skills / Requirements

Responsible for thoroughly registering patients into the PDCHC system.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Greeting patients.
  • Verifying patient demographics
  • Verifying patients’ eligibility - Established or New Patient
  • Entering all patient registration information into the system (PM systems)
  • Scanning patient information into the system, e.g., Medicare, check stub, etc.
  • Scanning HIPAA and Acknowledgment receipts into EMR system
  • Referring non-insured patients to outreach and enrollment to try to obtain coverage.
  • Next Day Prep of appointments
  • Collect Co-Pay, Intake Fee, and account payments.
  • Knowledge of patient balances, communicating info to patients if needed.
  • Counting down cash drawer and personally returning it to finance at the end of the day.
  • Answering phone calls
  • Scheduling/Rescheduling appointments
  • Use interpreter phone to communicate with foreign speaking patients
  • Registration Clerks will be assigned specific specialties to cover (ex. Dental, Adult, Pediatrics, etc)

Additional Positions Responsible for satellites:

  • Dental Competency
    • Respond to patient inquiries about dental services
    • Assist with opening & closing dental clinic daily
    • Submitting referrals/Pre-Determination to Dental Biller.
  • RX prescription pick up
  • Scanning medical documents
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Faxing over overflow documents & request

Position Requirements:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years customer service experience
  • Previous Healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Bilingual (preferred)

    of being a calming influence; of being direct and of explaining registration
    requirements to patients; of using the supervisor; of making referrals to the
    supervisor, security, and cashiers; of maintaining confidentiality.

    copies when necessary; to be flexible when faced with loss of electricity or other
    disturbances; to maintain routines and adapt as needed; to know when to consult
    with the supervisor; to handle money and be accountable at the close of the day

Education Requirements (Any)

High school graduate or Equivalent (GED)

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School Graduate
    1 to 2 years’ experience, in a dental setting
    Required knowledge of dental/office equipment as
    well as dental/medical terminology.
  • Professional: Strong computer and Customer service skills
  • Physical/Environmental: None
