Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a behavioral health care team of clinicians and medical support staff.  Coordinates daily functions and ensures appropriate staff coverage; provides psychiatric clinical services; and performs other duties as assigned.  

Job Description:

Duties: 

  • Supervises and manages a team of behavioral health staff including nurse practitioners, social workers, community health workers, and administrative staff.
  • Oversees the daily departmental operations.
  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants for new or open positions.
  • Assists with new hire onboarding and training, chart audits, and data collection for quality improvement purposes. 
  • Provides direct provision of clinical behavioral health services to patients.
  • Leads staff meetings and serves as a liaison between clinicians, therapists, and administrative staff.
  • Facilitates referrals for clinically indicated services outside of PDCHC (e.g., social services such as housing assistance, vocational rehabilitation, mental health specialty care, substance use disorder treatment).  
  • Builds relationships and collaborate with leadership, staff, and clinicians to deliver quality patient care. 
  • Works alongside leadership to meet the strategic goals & priorities of the agency. 
  • Creates departmental new hire orientation and assists with employee performance reviews of social work staff. 
  • Maintains patient records that are complete, comprehensive, and well organized.  
  • Handles client complaints and concerns & monitor overall client satisfaction with clinical care. 
  • Attends agency meetings and trainings. 
  • Ensures compliance with privacy laws and other medical regulations.

Education Requirements (Any)

Master degree in nursing; Completion of a Nurse Practitioner's Program
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a behavioral health provider.

Certification Requirements (Any)

CPR Certification
Current Nurse Practitioner certification.
