Job Skills / Requirements

The WIC Director is responsible for directing and implementing all aspects of Park DuValle Community Health Center's Women, Infants and Children program (WIC).  Plans and monitors all financial, operational, and professional activities of the WIC department.  The position also involves direct nutritional counseling and care activities to clients.  

• Oversees WIC staff members who provide participant centered nutrition counseling and care services, builds and maintains caseloads and schedules, evaluates performance and conducts staff meetings.
• Manages and monitors financial aspects of the WIC program budget.
• Plans and conducts in-servie training programs in nutritional care for the staff of the WIC program.
• Prepares policies and procedures for the effective administration of the WIC Program.
• Participates in State and Regional meetings and local programs to keep abreast of new developments in the field of nutrition.
• Maintains records in accordance with Federal, State, and County requirements.
• Peforms other duties as assigned.

Experience requirment:

At least three years experience in dietetics with at least one year of management experience.

Education Requirements (Any)

The WIC Certifying Health Professional may be any of the following: Nutritionist (Bachelor's Degree), Dietitian (RDLD), or Nurse (RN)
