We are seeking a 1ST SHIFT Quality Technician/Metrologist

Pay Range:         $24.00 - $29.00 an hour

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

Performs complex First Part/First Article and WIP inspections of mechanical parts in a precision machine shop setting.  Measures and documents dimensional characteristics utilizing analytical, technical and surface plate inspection methods.  

Controls inspection, measuring and test equipment under the metrology calibration system and determines the equipment is accurate and currently calibrated to established metrology standards, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and company requirements.  

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Training and experience equivalent to 4 -6 years in a quality discipline in a manufacturing environment.  ASQ (American Society for Quality) Quality Technician certification and/or ASQ Mechanical Inspection certification are desirable.
  • Able to read and understand manufacturing orders and complex work instructions, and material handling documents.
  • Knowledge of dimensional measurement equipment commonly found in a machine shop and/or quality inspection and/or calibration department in a manufacturing environment, including fixed and variable gauges and indicators, surface plate and associated measuring and fixturing equipment, optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic measurements for calibrating gauges, meters, and basic measuring equipment as found in engineering lab, production and maintenance.
  • Able to determine part acceptability by performing mechanical inspection and visual inspection with good judgment.
  • Working knowledge of reading & accurately interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and statistical analysis
  • Computer skills including knowledge of MS Office products, metrology and calibration programs, an ERP system and navigating the Internet
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Strong communication and team skills

Schedule/Hours:             Monday - Friday 6:00a - 2:30p

Pay Frequency:               Bi-Weekly
