Founded in 1919, Whip Mix manufactures Hanau™, Denar® and Whip Mix articulators, dental gypsums, investments, waxes, furnaces, mixing equipment and model trimmers for use in dental laboratories and dental offices and equipment. Whip Mix, headquartered in Louisville, Ky, is ISO9001-2008 certified.

We are seeking a Sales Representative to join our dynamic team.  This person will support our dental products that we provide to Universities, Colleges and Academic organizations.

Under general direction, develop and execute sales strategies to increase sales for assigned accounts that meet or exceed company sales and margin goals and objectives. Assigned accounts include, but not limited to, Universities, Schools, Colleges and Academic organizations and other educational and training entities.  Through telesales, video calls, on-site visits, attending industry organization meetings and attending trade-shows, establish and maintain relationships with assigned accounts, related end-users of our products, dentists, dental laboratories, dental students and other business partners to foster sales growth, provide product education and to gain relevant industry and competitive information.

Job Functions and Responsibilities   
 
 | 1. | Using the Whip Mix consultative sales system, proactively contact accounts assigned within territory to build relationships, understand their business and develop sustainable growth plans with each Customer.  | 20%

 | 2. | Using the Whip Mix consultative sales system, proactively contact dental students, school faculty, dental laboratory personnel, dental clinics and other end-users of Whip Mix products via outbound calls, video calls and travel to their offices to build relationships, provide product training and promote Whip Mix products to increase the purchases of Whip Mix products by those end-users.  | 20%

 | 3. | Works with customers on problem solving via telephone, internet and personal contact.  Assists with sales analysis and communications to customer on an as needed basis regarding product quality issues, delayed shipments and other service issues to develop alternative plans and maintain the business.  | 15%

 | 4. | Develops and presents continuing education programs and seminars to demonstrate the correct use of company products, introduce new products and to promote the Whip Mix product line.  | 15%

 | 5. | Provide technical assistance / product training and education to assigned accounts and end-users of our products (e.g. dental schools, academic staff, dental technology students, dental laboratory technicians and clinicians) and other business partners as needed to promote the Whip Mix product line and train on the proper use of those products.  | 10%

 | 6. | Develop and implement pricing, distribution and/or private label agreements with accounts that profitably grow business.  | 5%

 | 7. | Serves on product development/improvement teams, as required. Evaluates competitors’ product quality and capabilities. | 5%

 | 8. | Attend dental school meetings, laboratory technician programs, dental association meetings, Trade-Shows and other events as needed and/or as directed by Manager to support set-up and staffing of trade show booths, build relationships, gather market intelligence and promote Whip Mix products.               

9. | Enter data and keep information current in Whip Mix CRM system to track customer activity, sales calls made and other relevant information on customers and business partner. | 5%

Job Requirements:
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted.
     
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Worker Characteristics     
  1. Demonstrated ability to use effective communication and negotiation skills to conduct product demonstrations, sales presentations, fielding customer inquiries and to present sales strategies and opportunities. 
  2. Strong understanding of the application, performance, operation, features and benefits of occlusion products from the dentist, dental school faculty and student, and laboratory technician perspectives.   
  3. In-depth knowledge of dental industry terminology.  Ability to perform and demonstrate dental laboratory  functions to dental technicians and dental technology students.
  4. Strong analytical skills to develop product and service pricing packages for customers and to trouble shoot customer problems.
  5. Must possess, or be able to learn, the ability to demonstrate correct product usage to varying groups of current and potential customers and to assemble and perform minor maintenance on articulator instrumentation. 
  6. Ability to utilize business skills (such as sales forecasting and marketing techniques) in order to position and promote products. 
  7. Must be able to work collaboratively with team members, clients and business partners while possessing a high degree of energy and a positive attitude in a competitive market and role.  
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as experience working in an ERP, CRM and similar systems required.   
  9. Ability to travel by car and plane to fulfill job requirements required.
 
Summary Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor or Associate of Science degree in dentistry, dental technology or similar dental related field required. 
  • Minimum of (3) three years sales experience preferred.
  • Prior work in dental product sales and/or or as a dental technician, dental assistant, dental hygienist or dentist is strongly preferred.
 
Working Conditions
Home location with typical office set-up required. 
Must have adequate and reliable internet connection and stable mobile telephone service. 
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time if required.
