Job Skills / Requirements

Pay Rate:  $26.92 - New Rate!
Spanish Bilingual Preferred (if able to pass a Spanish speaking test $1.00 more on the hour)

Performs work of average to complex difficulty dealing with health information data management systems.  Responsible for gathering, processing, and in-taking manual and electronic patient medical records. This position will ensure medical records are maintained in a manner compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, along with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements of the medical services system.  Duties include managing data, coordinating projects as needed and providing assistance with billing, medical records and administrative functions as needed.  Assists Team Leader in representing the Medical Records and Billing Services department at various meetings.

TYPE OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience working with medical records required. Experience in a Medical Records/Health Information healthcare setting preferred. Computerized (electronic medical record) systems experience preferred. Understanding of medical information management, basic coding and auditing required.   
Experience with working knowledge of applicable computer software programs such as electronic health records, or Custom Data Processing (CDP)  


Education Requirements (Any)

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)preferred, ICD-10-CM and CPT coding experience preferred.
Associate's degree in health information technology: required.
