Job Skills / Requirements

Responsible for the completion of daily tasks and paid claims. Contacts the payer on claims where delayed or incorrect payments are a problem. Assists with filing of remittances, referrals, and other forms needed within the office. Files secondary claims after primary payer payment has been received. Maintains confidentiality of all information. Attend meetings as needed. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties performed by this employee. The employee will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by the employee’s supervisor

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

·        Works denial remittances until resolved

·        Works daily Tasks and Account Checks

·        Works aged accounts

·        Mails paper claims, both UB04 and 1500’s, daily.

·        Answers for workgroup phone calls

·        Reports on all denials to Utilization Management

·        Communicates with coders regarding denials due to coding

 

Role Minimum Qualifications

 

Required Education

·        High school diploma or equivalent

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Uses proper grammar and exhibits good communication skills.
  • Computer knowledge and keyboarding experience.
  • Performs basic math calculations.
  • Ability to create a friendly, cooperative atmosphere for patients, visitors and staff members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous billing or insurance experience

Education Requirements (Any)

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT
