Competencias Laborales / Requisitos

A Engineer IV will operate, maintain, and repair equipment and systems throughout the company. Functions within all compliance requirements for all federal, state, local and Joint Commission Standards.  Independently troubleshoots, repairs and provides preventative maintenance within technical skill set/ licensure. This position prioritizes patient care and infection control standards to meet the maintenance needs of the patient/company. Will be subject to hold over or recall for essential services & emergencies such as weather-related events, (snow, rain, ice, winds, etc.)

  • Can read schematics and utilize information to trouble shoot device or system. 
  • Documents the results of inspections, maintenance, and tests.
  • Provides guidance to co-workers in assessment, engineering skills, and problem solving.
  • Can perform repairs to individual device levels. 
  • Track and report status of projects. 
  • Functions in an independent manner to complete necessary repairs and preventative maintenance 
  • Use the CMMS system to increase departmental productivity in all positions
  • Displays ability to work within Maintenance, Building Automation software systems & other areas of competence (Trane, Microsoft, Nurse Call, Tube System Fire Alarms, UPS, etc.) 
  • Preforms Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA) & work with staff to create Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) 
  • Test, repair, calibrate & specify devices/systems within their knowledge base by determining regulations, defining policies & developing procedures to support those systems in which they are trained or licensed. 
  • Manages assigned projects independently, tracks spending, and maintains project timelines to ensure timely completion of projects 
  • Supports department staff through communication and execution of directives as they relate to projects, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred 
  • Master or Journeyman License or Minimum of five years’ experience in licensure or specialized skill required. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. 
  • Carpentry experience a must; preferably Healthcare related carpentry experience. 
  • Must be familiar with operation of boilers, pumps, air handlers, and HVAC systems. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects. 
  • Must have electrical knowledge- troubleshooting of basic electrical circuits preferred. 
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge. 
  • Uses correct grammar, spelling and punctuation in duties performed. 
  • Maintains orderly files. 
  • Performs basic mathematical calculations. 
  • Ability to delegate and organize. 
  • Follow written and oral instructions. 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  
  • Possible hazardous work environment, for example exposure to chemicals, fires, extreme weather (snow/ice),etc. 
  • Capable of working in confined spaces.  
  • Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity.  
  • Requires vision within normal range. 
  • Subject to stress and fatigue. 
  • Able to frequently climb, bend, and stoop. 
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.  
  • Ability to speak and hear is necessary. 
  • Subject to hold over or recall for essential services & emergencies such as weather-related events. (Snow, ice, rain, winds, etc.)
