Competencias Laborales / Requisitos

Job Summary/Purpose

The Rehab Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the rehab department. This position plays a key role in supporting therapists, patients, and staff by handling scheduling, documentation, and customer service duties in a professional and patient-centered environment.

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

·        Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner

·        Schedule and confirm physical therapy appointments and maintain daily clinic schedule

·        Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals

·        Collect and enter patient demographic and billing information accurately into the system

·        Maintain organized records and assist with documentation preparation for therapists

·        Respond to phone inquiries, direct calls, and relay messages

·        Process patient intake forms and ensure all paperwork is complete before therapy sessions

·        Monitor and maintain office supplies and therapy materials inventory

·        Support therapists with administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and data entry

·        Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

·        Assist with coordinating communication between physical therapy staff, providers, and other departments as needed

·        Ensure cleanliness and organization of front desk and waiting areas

 

Role Minimum Qualifications

 

Required Education

·        High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Licensure and Certifications                -Post Hire

  • BLS

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·        Familiarity with medical terminology.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

·        Dependable, professional, and team-oriented

·        Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

·        Strong time management and problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

·        Healthcare, insurance, or office setting experience preferred.

·        Experience working in a physical therapy, rehabilitation, or outpatient clinical environment

·        Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
