Competencias Laborales / Requisitos

     The Risk and Patient Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining patient safety programs to ensure the highest standards of care. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, risk management, and quality improvement processes. The Risk and Patient Safety Manager will work closely with medical staff, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to identify potential safety issues, develop strategies to moderate risks, and promote a culture of safety within the organization. Key responsibilities include conducting safety audits, analyzing incident reports, and leading root cause analysis investigations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position is critical in ensuring that our patients receive safe, high-quality care and that our organization complies with all relevant safety standards and regulations. The manager serves the Safety Committee for hospital wide comprehensive safety program. This includes the authority necessary to carry out actions necessary to minimize or prevent safety or health hazards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES:  

  • ADN required or BSN preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting. 
  • Strong knowledge of patient safety regulations and standards. 
  • Experience with risk management and quality improvement processes
  • Understands healthcare delivery system including various settings and reimbursement issues relating to each.
  • Experience in incident analysis and summation.
  • Knowledge of overall functions of hospital departments within a hospital.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, basic mathematic calculation, and human disease processes, CMS, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Experience in conducting safety audits and inspections. 
  • Able to work with the various department heads, service lines, and physicians. 
  • Must understand managerial concepts and functions, leadership styles, employee motivation, small group dynamics, and principles of authority and responsibility.
