Job Skills / Requirements
Job Summary
Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring to inquiries. Shows patients to their exam room and takes patient vital signs, obtains basic medical history, reason for current visit, confirms allergies, and reconciles medications. Assists the physician or provider in the clinical treatment of patients, including assistance within office procedures and documentation. Works directly as a liaison between physician/provider and patient. Responsible for the preparation of the medical charts, scanning of documents, notifying physician/provider of any lab/imaging results, and associated clerical functions, including answering telephones and scheduling patient appointments. Responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies for exam rooms. Protects patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. May assist as needed with obtaining prior authorizations for medications and/or procedural orders by successfully completing the authorization process with commercial payers. Required Education, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- High School education or equivalent preferred.
- SRNA, CMA, or RMA required (KBN, NHA, AAMA, AMT)
- Minimum of 1 year experience preferred.
- Must have BLS certification within 3 months of hire and keep current.
- Knowledge of procedure authorization and its direct impact on the practice’s revenue cycle.
- Basic understanding of use of CPT and ICD-10 codes
- Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT
Certification Requirements (All)
CMA or RMA
BLS certification within 3 months of hire
SRNA Certification
