Job Summary:

The State Registered Nursing Assistant (SRNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The SRNA assists in meeting the basic physical, emotional, and social needs of patients and supports the healthcare team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital environment.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, intake/output, and other routine measurements.
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, transfers, and use of assistive devices (e.g., walkers, wheelchairs, lifts).
  • Answer call lights promptly and respond to patient needs with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Support RNs in clinical procedures and care tasks as delegated and within scope of practice.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient condition, behavior, or complaints to the nursing staff.
  • Assist with transportation of patients to diagnostic or procedural areas within the hospital.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly patient care environments, including restocking supplies and disinfecting equipment.
  • Provide emotional support and communication to patients and families, maintaining a patient-centered approach.
  • Accurately document care and interventions in the patient’s medical record according to hospital policy.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Current State Registered Nursing Assistant (SRNA) certification in Kentucky with no restrictions.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and observational skills.
  • Strong commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics

This job reports to the Med Surg Department Manager

This is a Full-Time position 1st Shift, 7am - 7pm with an every other weekend rotation.

Relocation is not provided and travel is not required
