Overview

MonDay is a community based correctional facility that provides a secure treatment environment for probationable felony offenders. MonDay challenges offenders to modify their behavior to become responsible citizens by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral programming. Under general supervision the Clinician is responsible for providing chemical dependency assessment and/or treatment according to established policies and procedures.

Job Skills / Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Program: 

Assists in planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing a clinical program for residents. 
 Assesses residents for clinical problems. 
Develops and implements treatment plans to meet individual needs of residents. 
Monitors and modifies treatment plans as needed according to residents' progress.
 Organizes and completes progress notes according to standards. 
 Assesses and plans continued care/aftercare needs of residents. 
Provides individual counseling sessions. 
Facilitates group sessions and classes. 
Provides case management services by coordinating with other agencies, resources, and professionals within a planned framework of action toward the achievement of established goals. 
Responds to crisis situations and uses appropriate crisis intervention techniques. 
Charts the results of the assessments and treatment plans, writing reports, progress notes, discharge summaries and other client related data.

Related Programming Responsibilities: 
 
Interfaces with staff and residents. 
 Assists in the development of treatment plans. 
 Charts the results of the assessments and treatment plans, writing reports, progress notes, discharge summaries and other client related data.

Operations: 

Disciplines residents, follows and enforces procedures for managing residents. 
Ensures that necessary documentation is completed; assists in monitoring residents, transportation, and other operational duties as needed.

Administrative: 
Participates in treatment team meetings as scheduled, clinical team meetings and all staff meetings.
 Performs public relations with all personnel and the community. 
Collects, prepares, and submits monthly/quarterly/annual statistical reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree preferred in a behavioral science in counseling, social work, or a related field. 
2.Must have 40 hours of Chemical Dependency specific education. 
3.Must attain status as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant, LSW Assistant, or LPC Assistant within 30 days of appointment to position.
4.Must attain licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II, Licensed Social Worker or LPC within three years of appointment to the position.
5.Must maintain certification requirements of the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board or the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board, as appropriate.
6.Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1.Skills require the ability to analyze, plan, and implement effective clinical programming techniques which may include coaching, counseling, and positive reinforcement.
2.Ability to read and write routine reports, statistical information.
3.Interpersonal communication skills requiring ordinary courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively with staff, clients, families, social services, and criminal justice agencies, as well as the general public.
4.Ability to develop, implements, and evaluate effective treatment plans and case management techniques. 
5.Ability to facilitate groups.
6.A working knowledge of the general principles of social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, or associated curriculum as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree program.
7.Familiarity with Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and a working knowledge of recovery support programs.
8.Valid State of Ohio Driver's License with a good driving record required.
