We provide help and create hope for the poor and vulnerable through a wide range of programs, assisting clients of all races, backgrounds and beliefs. Our service area includes 24 counties throughout Central Kentucky.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Match Grant Coordinator (MGC) works within the Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) program coordinates required services to clients who are enrolled in the Match Grant program supporting clients from orientation through ongoing adjustment. The Match Grant Coordinator will work closely with internal staff and external  service providers to facilitate self-sufficiency among clients. in compliance with PRM- and ORR-funded program requirements. The Match Grant Coordinator directly supervises the Match Grant Caseworker(s), interns, and practicum students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS: 
 
Client Services

Screen incoming refugee arrivals and other participating populations for eligibility for the Match Grant program. Coordinate the scheduling and content of orientations, check-in meetings, and case closure meetings.

    1. Provide oversight of the overall MG client assistance budget, ensuring we stay on track with spending. Review and approve weekly client assistance requests.
    2. Ensure timely documentation of services in physical case files and the case management system. Contribute to completion of required grant reports. 
    3. Support Case Management staff in providing on-going case management, including budgeting assistance, throughout the eight months service period of the MG program.
    4. Collaborate with Employment staff to ensure the clients’ job search is prioritized and supported, assisting where needed.
    5. Collaborate with English Language Training staff to ensure that clients are meeting attendance requirements.
    6. Collaborate with Community Engagement staff to meet the required in-kind match.
    7. Support staff in mediating services between clients and outside entities (i.e., neighbors, landlords, volunteers, service providers, etc.), and providing additional adjustment counseling as needed throughout the Match Grant service period.
    8. Ensure staff provide appropriate and timely family crisis management, including assistance with referrals to domestic violence services and substance abuse treatment.
    9. Provide supervision for assigned staff, practicum students, interns and volunteers.
    10. All other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise due to computers, printers, and people moving about and out in the community.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:
telephone, computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, scanner, and shredder
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or related field and one year of relevant work experience are required, preferably with refugees. Reasonable accommodation may be made to those who can perform the job’s essential duties.  
 
SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to speak languages commonly spoken by current refugee populations preferred
  • Knowledge of different programs and Grants within Migration and Refugee Services
  • Must be able to represent Catholic Charities positively in dress and presentation when meeting community members and demonstrate good networking skills
  • Must have strong writing skills and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, rules, and regulations to ensure programmatic and fiscal compliance
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable personal transportation
  • Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events
  • Able to manage competing demands and use time effectively
  • Able to provide clear instructions and delegate tasks and responsibilities to Caseworkers
  • Must have experience in refugee job development and placement
  • Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing with colleagues, clients, other community personnel, and service providers
  • Must be able to work under pressure and handle stressful situations
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends as needed
  • Must be proficient in PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Must demonstrate self-confidence, initiative, flexibility, good supervisory skills, and a high degree of professionalism
