SALARY: $24/hour

The Refugee Employer Outreach Specialist will play a crucial role in facilitating the integration of refugees into the workforce by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with employers. The Refugee Employer Outreach Specialist will be responsible for identifying job opportunities, advocating for refugee employment, and providing support to both employers and refugees throughout the hiring process.

Essential Duties and Tasks: 
  1. Develop and implement strategies to engage employers in hiring refugees, including outreach campaigns, networking events, and employer presentations.
  2. Cultivate relationships with businesses of varying sizes and industries to create a diverse range of job opportunities for refugees.
  3. Educate employers about the benefits of hiring refugees, including access to a diverse talent pool and opportunities for cultural enrichment within their organizations.
  4. Coordinate training programs and workshops for employers to foster understanding and cooperation in the workplace.
  5. Offer ongoing support to employers to address any challenges or concerns that may arise during the employment relationship.
  6. Advocate for reasonable accommodations and cultural sensitivity in the workplace to ensure the success and integration of refugee employees.
  7. Maintain accurate records of employer partnerships and generate reports and metrics to demonstrate the impact of refugee employment initiatives to inform future strategies.
  8. Communicate with employers regularly to track the progress of refugees in the workforce and identify areas for improvement or additional support. 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, international relations, human resources, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in refugee resettlement, workforce development, employer engagement, or a related area.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate with diverse groups.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the challenges faced by refugees in the employment process.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.

Education Requirements (Any)

Bachelor's degree in social work, international relations, human resources or related field required.
