We provide help and create hope for the poor and vulnerable through a wide range of programs, assisting clients of all races, backgrounds and beliefs. Our service area includes 24 counties throughout Central Kentucky.

FULL TIME/EXEMPT ROLE: $75,000 - $80,000/ANNUAL
The Director of Individual Philanthropy is an essential component of the Advancement team, with primary responsibility for engaging donors financially on all levels advancing the mission of Catholic Charities. This position will nurture ongoing relationships as well as seek and build new donor relationships to secure budgeted funds. Integral player in creating strategy that focuses on major donors, multi-year giving, and monthly giving program. Interact regularly with donors through in-person outreach, tours, and small events throughout the year. Invites guests and acquires captains for our annual fundraiser, Rouler.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
Participate as an active member of the Advancement team, which includes attending meetings and working collaboratively to achieve the budgeted Agency and Advancement Department goals and advance the mission of the agency.
Cultivate Donor Relations to Meet Development Goals
- Work with Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), to develop and execute donor outreach strategies with specific goals of increasing overall support for the agency.
- Solicit and secure financial gifts with primary focus on:
- Mid-Range to Major Gift Cultivation
- Multi-Year Pledges
- Monthly Giving Program
- Responsible for retaining and building a pipeline of current and prospective donors to cultivate and solicit new and elevated gifts.
- Cultivate and initiate relationships through personal engagement with donors (tours, coffees, lunches, etc.)
- Collaborate with Database and Development Associate to manage donor portfolio as well as identify, segment and track donors.
- Lead the recruitment and invitation of captains and other guests to major fundraiser, Rouler. Responsible for OneCause guest tracking and communication.
Tailor Outreach and Communicate Consistently
- Work with CAO and Director of Marketing Communications to strategize messaging and communication schedule to support budgeted goals through appeals, newsletters, eblasts and more.
- Engage donors regularly through various channels: calls, emails, newsletter and activities like tours, volunteer opportunities, or small events.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in donor relations with history of proven results
- Preferred practicing Catholic
- Major gifts and planned giving experience a plus
- Able to manage and meet budgets’ expectations and goals.
- Requires strong communication skills and a friendly personality, must be comfortable asking for all levels of donations
- Proficient in Microsoft products, email and PC computers.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- This position requires a spirit of welcome: it will be the first, and in some cases, only point of contact with Catholic Charities for members of the community who are interested in contributing and/or serving in social ministry with the agency.
- Occasional evening/weekend work is required, as it is very occasional travel throughout the 24 counties of the archdiocese.
- Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing with colleagues, parishes, clergy, and other community personnel.
- Must be comfortable making cold calls and reaching out to potential donors.
- Must be comfortable speaking to groups, meeting new people, providing presentations and cultivating community contacts.
- Must be able to multi-task, respond appropriately to deadlines, have great attention to detail, and be able to produce quality results.
- Must demonstrate self-confidence, initiative, flexibility, good supervisory skills, and a high degree of professionalism.
- Must be able to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Must work well with limited supervision and be able to solve problems independently.
