Overview

Kelley Construction is a multi-faceted commercial and industrial general contractor licensed to perform work in many states across the United States. We offer a wealth of technical expertise in all areas of commercial construction including: restaurants, medical facilities, warehousing, fast food chains, large design-build expansions and general office renovation. We also have broad experience in industrial construction, from liquid storage and containment and petroleum related construction to pre-engineered metal buildings and concrete construction.

POSITION SUMMARY:  The business development manager is a management level position, reporting to the President of GCCM.  Individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external development plan in the market(s) and geographic area(s) set forth by the division President. This position is expected to uphold the culture, mission and values established by the organization. When representing this company this individual should support and uphold the values and integrity of the brand. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Identify project opportunities through meetings, networking, and other channels that align with strategic growth plan.
  • Meeting and communicating with existing and targeted clients to build and/or maintain positive relationships.
  •  Builds market position by identifying, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships in assigned geographic area of focus.
  • Initiates GO/NOGO process by screening potential business deals, analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials. 
  • Monitors external and internal environment for development of new market segments and competitive alignment.
  • Assists in or produces feasibility studies/business plans for new sector development.
  • Assists marketing with developing campaigns for accentuating company’s services. 
  • Attending events such as conferences and tradeshows when value of attendance has been identified and approved. 
  • Produce and maintain reports for division President. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operations, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Maintain CRM data to ensure accurate KPI data for decision making.
  • Assist with preparing sales presentations, including participation in such meetings as needed. 
  • Liaising with colleagues to develop sales and marketing strategies. 
  • Assists in planning of any events that highlight corporate services.
  • Represents the company by being active in company philanthropy, volunteer groups, trade organizations, fundraisers, and community organizations once approved. 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to give effective presentations
  • Ability to read nonverbal communication to achieve better insight.
  • Demonstrate aptitude to build confidence.
  • Show true passion for client project and relationship.
  • Must be able to travel on a needed basis as required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing or a related program.
  • A minimum of 5 years construction related experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This job operates in a professional office environment. Must have the ability to routinely use standard office equipment, including but not limited to: keyboard, desktop/laptop computers, mobile/desktop phones, iPad, copy machines, fax machines and filing cabinets. This position requires, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and bending.
