Job Skills / Requirements

Sunstates Security is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented BI and SQL Developer to lead the development of data applications, dashboards, workflow automation, and integrations that drive business intelligence and decision-making.


This role will focus on designing and managing BI reporting for our ERP system and integrating that data with third-party platforms using tools like Snowflake, Sigma, Power BI, and SQL. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of data modeling, reporting, and systems integration, with the ability to build scalable database-driven applications and visualizations. A key aspect of this role will be managing the full lifecycle of BI projects, from gathering stakeholder requirements through development to the delivery of actionable reports and dashboards.


This is a fully in-office role in Raleigh NC - NOT remote or hybrid. 

 

This position offers a salary of $120,000 per year - DOE. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI, Sigma, and other BI tools 
  • Design, manage, and support data warehouse and data lake solutions to enable scalable reporting, analytics, and cross-system data integration. 
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support reporting and integration tasks 
  • Design and build custom form-based database applications to enhance reporting, workflow automation, or data collection 
  • Integrate data between ERP systems, third-party platforms, and internal databases to support unified reporting 
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and manage data flow using tools like Snowflake 
  • Work with business stakeholders to define metrics, KPIs, and reporting requirements 
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all reporting and BI platforms 
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot reporting or data issues as needed 
  • Maintain documentation for dashboards, data models, and integration logic 
  • Collaborate with internal IT, operations, and external vendors to ensure reporting infrastructure meets evolving needs 
  • Act as the primary coordinator for incoming BI and data requests, managing project timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations. 
  • Communicate data insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers to ensure BI solutions continuously meet business needs and deliver measurable value. 
     

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

 

  • Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake SQL) 
  • Strong experience with Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse 
  • Proficiency in Power BI and Sigma for building dashboards and interactive reports 
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and relational database design 
  • Familiarity with API integrations and data flow between systems 
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and concepts 
  • Bonus: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python), or experience with Azure Data Factory or similar platforms

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLSETS DESIRED


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing business intelligence and data integration solutions 
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes such as Snowflake and other modern data platforms. 
  • Proficiency with analytics and visualization tools such as Sigma, Power BI, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other BI tools. 
  • Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures, views, and performance tuning 
  • Experience designing form-based database applications to support operational workflows 
  • Proven ability to integrate and manage data from multiple systems, including ERP platforms and third-party tools 
  • Familiarity with data pipeline and ETL/ELT concepts 
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to follow structured development practices
