Custodians are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned areas. Custodians perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the facility



Essential Functions
Sweeping, dusting, dust mopping, damp mopping, vacuuming, extracting carpet, stripping and waxing floors, removing trash, recycling, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms, polishing outside area within 10 feet of entryways, washing windows, removal or snow and ice, cleaning of desks/walls/ furniture/ doors/ entry glass/ interior glass/counter tops/chalkboards/ whiteboards/blinds and light fixtures, and any other duties as directed by custodial manger or his/her designated representative.

Essential Job Functions:
 
 
1.      A Shift Lead is a person responsible for assisting the district manager & evening manager or project manager with supervision of an account. 
 
 
2.      The Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring that the account is cleaned according to contract specifications.  He or she supervises and assists the cleaning crews with completing tasks.
 
 
3.      Attendance is an essential job function, a Shift Lead must provide supervision of an account to continue the operation of the account.
 
4.      Depending upon the account, he or she may assist in conducting orientation and training for new employees. Will assist project manager as needed in disciplinary matters; ordering and delivering supplies and contacting warehouse manager regarding equipment repairs.
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
1.      3 Years of Custodial Experience / 1 Year of Supervision Experience

2.      Familiarity in building maintenance operations.
 
3.      Experience with supervising people in any capacity is preferable.
 
4.      Good people skills.
 
5.      Ability to interface with customer personnel essential.
 
6.      Customer relations may be a part of the Shift Lead's position depending upon               schedule.
 
7.      Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform routine physical activity associated with carpet and hard surface floor care. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Extensive repeated twisting and stooping required. Visual acuity to the extent that the person can see stains on carpets, dust on surfaces, trash or small items on the floor, etc., is required.
 
Must possess the ability of hearing, speaking, reading, and understanding the English language and in some cases, Spanish, to the extent that the person can communicate with employees in person and on the phone
The same ability will apply to customer communications.

 
DUTIES:
 
1.      Maintains and delivers supplies and equipment. Keeps track of cleaning chemicals and supplies used and ensures that sufficient items are on hand to properly clean the building.
 
2.      Safeguards and is accountable for all equipment, tools and supplies.
 
3.      Inspects janitorial closets for compliance with safety standards.
 
4.      Fills in for absent cleaners.
 
5.      Performs special tasks such as stripping and refinishing floors, carpet care, etc.
 
6.      Administers HES personnel policies in accordance with HES personnel policy manual.
 
7.      Enforces the HES/account dress code/company policies.
 
8.      Assists in training new employees.
 
9.      Maintains equipment. Contacts the district manager regarding equipment that is in need of repair. May also repair equipment if capable of doing so.
 
10.    Other duties as required and assigned.
