Litter Control team members are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned campus grounds areas.  The Litter Control team performs any combination of duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the campus with a primary focus on the exterior grounds and parking garages. 
 
Essential Functions

  • General policing of sites shall be included in the daily/nightly contracted service. 
  • All trash/litter shall be removed around the perimeter of the buildings, including the green space. 
  • All exterior trash/recycle receptacles and ash urns will be emptied and the exterior of the receptacles cleaned daily/nightly. Correct liners must be used for recycling/landfill cans. 
  • Cans are to be positioned correctly with labels and access facing out to pedestrians. 
  • All trash/recycle is to be taken to the appropriate dumpster/compactor. 
  • Large trash found at trash/recycling sites must be addressed and disposed of in the proper containers. If items are too large, Special Services must be notified. 
  • All surface drains are to be clear of debris within the 10’ perimeter and stairwells to prevent flooding of interior spaces. 
  • Garages are to be policed daily. 
  • All trash/recycle receptacles are to be emptied. 
  • All loose trash is to be picked up. 
  • Receptacles are to be cleaned as needed. 
  • Leaves and debris are to be picked up on a regular basis to keep the garages neat in appearance and to keep drains from clogging. 
  • Stairwells must be swept regularly for trash and cigarette butts. 
  • Detail cleaning of garages is to be scheduled during Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks. 
  • Curbs and stairwells will be kept free of debris and have a neat appearance. 
  • Surface lots to be policed daily 
  • Sweep curbs and corners; sweep lot as needed. 
  • Service trash/recycling containers 
  • Remove any trash, debris, cigarette butts, etc. 
  • Service any large enclosures, reporting large items to be disposed of. 
  • Sweep and remove debris in and around enclosure. 


Job Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation 
  • Candidates are subject to Background check 

Minimum Qualifications 
  • Education: High school degree preferred but not required. 
  • Experience: Previous cleaning experience a plus. 
  • Valid driver's license and clearance of MVR required.

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and pull. 
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. 
  • Extensive walking and standing for the duration of the shift. 
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks with production and service time frames as established by the company. 
  • Ability to work with various temperatures from extreme hot to cold.
