Job Skills / Requirements
The primary duty of the Area Manager is to ensure high quality cleaning of the facilities in their designated area. This includes regular inspections, training new and current employees, resolving customer concerns, distributing supplies, and covering for employee absences.
Essential Duties:
- Motivate employees to achieve their best work.
- Coach employees to maintain performance standards
- Train and retrain employees.
- Treat all employees with respect and dignity, ensuring fair and equal treatment regardless of personal differences.
- Travel to various accounts to inspect work, ensure quality control, and confirm employees' working hours.
- Ensure supply closets are organized and stocked.
- Maintain job books within compliance expectations.
- Resolve timecard exceptions within due date.
- Monitor and maintain customer logbooks, notifying the office of ongoing problems.
- Set up and start new accounts, ensuring employees are trained and quality standards are met.
- Fill in for employee absences and turnover by performing all duties of a general cleaner.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and train employees on safe practices.
- Complete written performance reviews of employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Ability to handle interruptions, multiple demands, and variable workloads.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise others and set a good example.
- Strong communication skills for interacting politely with customers, supervisors, and employees.
- Treat employees with respect and fairness while giving directions.
- Capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of MSDS, Right-To-Know laws, and job safety.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, tools, and equipment.
- Must wear a backpack vacuum.
