Job Skills / Requirements

Full-Time 2nd Shift Floor Care Specialist / Floater

Location: Champaign–Urbana, Central Illinois
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM (8-hour shifts)
Some flexibility may be required depending on business needs.

ESS Clean, Inc. is growing, and we’re looking for a reliable, motivated, and positive individual to join our team as a Full-Time Floor Care Specialist / Floater.

In this important role, you’ll help maintain clean, safe, and professional environments across multiple facilities in the Champaign–Urbana area. You’ll also have the opportunity to support janitorial operations as needed — and we’ll set you up for success with full training, equipment, and a company vehicle provided during your shift.

What You’ll Do:

Floor Care Specialist Duties:

• Strip, wax, scrub, and buff hard surface floors
• Perform carpet cleaning using both self-contained and box-and-wand extractors

Janitorial Floater Duties (on non-floor-care days):

• Fill in for absent staff or cover open janitorial routes
• General cleaning:
• • Dusting, wiping, and disinfecting surfaces
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
  • Emptying trash and recycling bins

 Equipment You’ll Use:

• Upright and backpack vacuums
• Mop buckets and mops
• Low- and high-speed floor machines (buffers)
• Automatic scrubbers and wet vacuums
• Carpet extractors

 Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of professional floor care experience
• Excellent reliability and work ethic
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Must pass a background check, MVR, drug/alcohol screening, employment verification, and pre-employment physical
