Looking for a management position that keeps you active and involved in the day-to-day work? ESS Clean is hiring an Area Manager to oversee cleaning teams and customer locations throughout the Peoria area.
This is a hands-on management position that combines employee supervision, customer service, quality control, and commercial cleaning. You'll spend your time supporting employees, visiting customer locations, solving problems, and making sure our clients receive excellent service. Our Area Managers don't just oversee the work -- they do it, too! Whether you're training a new associate, helping your team, or covering an absence or open position, you should be comfortable jumping in and supporting frontline work.
This is a full-time, hourly position. This position works Monday through Friday, 4:00PM-12:30AM.
What You'll Do
- Supervise, train, coach, and support cleaning associates at multiple customer locations
- Visit assigned buildings regularly to inspect work and maintain cleaning quality
- Train new associates and provide ongoing support and feedback
- Address employee performance concerns and complete performance reviews
- Build positive relationships with clients and help resolve service concerns
- Coordinate supplies, equipment, and other needs at assigned locations
- Help get new client locations up and running
- Fill in for absences and open positions by performing general cleaning duties, including restroom cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and trash removal
- Promote safe work practices and ensure associates understand proper cleaning procedures
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience
- 1-2 years of commercial cleaning experience
- Someone who enjoys leading people and is comfortable working alongside their team
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities
- Availability to work evenings, Monday through Friday
Physical Requirements
This is an active position that requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You'll need to be comfortable performing commercial cleaning duties and using equipment such as vacuums, mops, and floor-cleaning machines.
