Position: Security Officer (Lobby / Front Desk) Location: Houston, TX 77027 Pay Rate: $14.50/hour (increases to $15.00/hour effective July 1) Hours: 32 hours per week (opportunity to reach 40 hours)
Schedule
- Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Monday & Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Days Off: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Position Overview
We are hiring a professional and customer service-focused Security Officer for a high-rise building in Houston. This position is primarily stationed at the front desk/lobby, with additional responsibilities including patrols and monitoring security systems.
This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, professional, and comfortable interacting with tenants and visitors while maintaining a strong security presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist tenants, visitors, and vendors in a professional and friendly manner
- Monitor access control systems and ensure authorized entry only
- Conduct visitor check-in procedures and maintain accurate logs
- Perform routine patrols of the building to identify safety or security concerns
- Monitor CCTV cameras and report suspicious activity
- Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and Incident Reports accurately
- Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas Security License (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Preferred Skills
- Previous security or customer service experience
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
