Field Training Officer (FTO) – Security Operations, United Protective Services – Houston Area

Pay: $18.00/hour 

Hours: Full-Time (40+ hours/week)

Schedule: Overnight and Evenings. Weekend Required.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Field Training Officer (FTO) to support onboarding, training, and development of security personnel across multiple client sites. This role is critical in maintaining service quality, ensuring compliance with post orders, and developing officers into confident, capable professionals.

The ideal candidate is a leader, coach, and subject matter expert who leads by example and takes ownership of training standards in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site training for new hires and transitioning officers
  • Ensure officers understand and follow post orders, client expectations, and company policies
  • Perform uniform inspections and enforce appearance standards
  • Review and verify daily activity reports (VI reporting) for accuracy and consistency
  • Identify performance gaps and provide real-time coaching and corrective training
  • Assist with site coverage as needed during call-offs or emergencies
  • Conduct patrol reviews (foot and vehicle) and ensure proper procedures are followed
  • Support leadership with documentation, evaluations, and training reports
  • Maintain a strong presence across assigned sites to ensure consistency and accountability

Schedule & Availability Requirements

  • Must be available to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends)
  • Willingness to travel between multiple sites in the Houston area
  • Ability to respond to urgent training or coverage needs

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Access control
    • Patrol operations
    • Incident reporting
    • Customer service in professional environments
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to coach, correct, and develop personnel in real time
  • Reliable transportation required
  • A driver's License and Age of 25 or older are required for driving insurance requirements.
