Job Skills / Requirements

1st Shift-5am-1pm Saturday-Wednesday
or
3rd Shift- 9pm-5am Thursday-Sunday

  • This is a driving post (must have good MVR)
  • Dispatch emergencies, call for outside assistance when needed as in ambulance or Fire departments.
  • Send mass communications, Via One call program, for dispatches, weather alerts, and duress alarms.
  • Know how to properly use a walkie talkie.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, in order to fill out the Emergency Dispatch Forms for any dispatch, Active shooter, Verbal altercations, Physical Altercations, or traffic accidents with injuries. As well as other permits.
  • Trainable in various computer programs, i.e. Card Alert system, Lenel, Simplex, Case Global, Facilities Management System (FMS),
  • Be able to use a multi-line desk phone
  • Organization Skills
  • Multitasking
  • The ability to remain calm, solve problems, and act effectively in a critical situation.
  • Prior Military or Law enforcement, preferred but not required
  • 1 year experience in dispatch or mass communications, preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (basic test will be given)
  • Be flexible in scheduling to be able to work your on-call week
  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • CCTV Monitoring
  • Monitor Weather via TV or Radio
  • Knowledge and use of the Phonetic/Military Alphabet 

Education Requirements (Any)

High School Diploma or equivalent
