Field Supervisor Job Description
A Field Supervisor is a Commissioned officer who performs several functions: inspection of
other Security Officers, including Post Commanders; act as Supervisor-on-Duty, and working at
various posts to fill open positions.
A Field Supervisor is expected to train on many different posts and is generally available for any
shift within a predetermined weekly schedule. Field Supervisors will be utilized on both armed
and unarmed posts.
 
Field Supervisor duties are primarily, but not limited to:
1. Post Inspections:
o Perform post inspections at all posts at random or planned intervals as directed
by operations management
o Maintain and submit inspection log sheets
o Do not discipline other officers, this will be handled by a manager
o Set and maintain a high standard for your fellow officers to follow, including job
performance and uniform appearance
o Assist in the training of officers – every inspection is an opportunity to train
o Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the customer and their
representative(s)
o Understand the customer's security and operational needs
2. Supervisor-on-Duty:
o Take calls from officers who may be in need of assistance: information, or calling
off duty. Your function is to get that information or any change to the schedule to
dispatch and the Captain.
o To ensure that the officers know their assigned weekly work schedule, you may
be assigned the task of calling officers with their schedule.

3. Working on Post:
o Work open posts as directed by operations management. You may work either a
partial or an entire shift dependant on available resources
o Your availability is determined on a weekly basis in cooperation with operations
management. You may be asked to work a post at any time.
o Ensure that all Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, etc. are completed in a
timely, accurate, and legible manner
o Maintain and safeguard all post-related equipment (phone, camera, golf-cart,
vehicle, etc.).  Report any serious equipment issues to a TIS supervisor
immediately
o Report any violations of TIS or customer policy or procedure to a TIS supervisor
immediately.

Texas DPS Commissioned (Armed) Security Officer License (Active)
Texas DPS Non-Commissioned (Unarmed) Security Officer License (Active)
