Job Skills / Requirements

We are seeking to expand our team in Grand Rapids by welcoming an Entry-Level Floor Care Specialist. While prior experience in commercial cleaning is advantageous and preferred, we are open to training the right candidate. As a Floor Care Specialist, you will undergo comprehensive training in various essential processes, including:

• Carpet cleaning
• VCT strip and finish
• Floor polishing
• Upholstery care

Details 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 5pm-1am with occasional weekends 

Pay: $19 hourly starting; willing to pay more based on experience 

Before You Start: This position requires a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle to use to travel between sites, ability to pass a 10-panel drug test and it requires a clear criminal history. Previous commercial cleaning experience is also required and comfortability with lifting and operating heavy equipment and walking long distances. 

Location: Grand Rapids and Surrounding Areas (Traveling between sites every night) 

Primary Duties (Including But Not Limited To) 

• Clean and maintain floors across diverse commercial settings.
• Utilize standard company procedures and equipment for assigned duties.
• Perform carpet care tasks such as wet extraction, wand extraction, and encapsulation.
• Upholstery care.
• Stone floor maintenance.
• Top scrubbing and stripping of hard floors.
• Care for rubber flooring.
• Conduct basic maintenance on equipment.
• Keep track of and replenish supplies inventory.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as required.
• Fulfill other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• Age Requirement: Minimum of 18 years old.
• Legal Authorization: Must be legally permitted to work in the US.
• Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain clearance for working in public schools.
• Drug Test: Ability to pass a 10-panel drug test 
• Transportation: Must have a personal vehicle to use for travel and a valid driver's license
• Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet job responsibilities.
• Physical Ability: Capable of lifting at least 25 pounds.
• Maintenance Skills: Proficiency in handling basic maintenance, repairs, or other cleaning duties as required.
• Teamwork: Able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
• Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
