Custodial Operations Manager

The Custodial Operations Manager oversees the operations of the janitorial services within the facility. This role is responsible for managing a team of janitorial staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are consistently met, and coordinating with other departments to maintain a clean and safe environment for all employees and visitors.

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate janitorial staff, including assigning duties, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues.
  • Manage shift coverage to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and efficient use.
  • Ensure all janitorial activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Train staff on safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials and emergency response procedures. 
  • Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to janitorial services promptly and professionally.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including potentially hazardous areas.
  • Supports Area/Building Supervisors and the chain of command 
  • Promotes a TEAM environment  
  • Reports directly to Sr. Operations Manager  
  • Responsible for cleanliness inside and out of company vehicles (if applicable)
  • Report all maintenance issues (vehicles or equipment) immediately 

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in janitorial services or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • This position may require working weekends and/or holidays depending on facility needs.
