Job Skills / Requirements
KR Contracting Inc. (KRC) is seeking experienced and motivated Protective Security Officer (PSO) Site Supervisors to support Department of Justice (DOJ) contract operations. The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of security operations, ensuring consistent post coverage, and providing leadership to subordinate officers. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, contract compliance, and the safety of all personnel, visitors, and property.
Ideal candidates have proven supervisory experience in security or law enforcement environments, excellent administrative and communication skills, and a commitment to high performance in secure federal settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site security operations across assigned posts.
- Assist Management in supervising field personnel.
- Directly supervise and support supervisors and PSOs to ensure contract compliance and operational readiness.
- Create and maintain duty schedules to ensure adequate coverage by trained personnel.
- Enforce company policies and promptly report any breaches or issues.
- Monitor and enforce all contractual requirements in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Conduct inspections to verify PSOs possess all required licenses and credentials.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and when necessary, disciplinary actions.
- Maintain professional standards of appearance and conduct across all personnel.
- Conduct post audits to ensure officers are familiar with post orders and emergency procedures.
- Minimize overtime and proactively report staffing or performance issues to Management.
- Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling, preparing memos and reports, and maintaining inventory and personnel records.
- Support training initiatives and complete required documentation such as certificates and incident reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduated from a certified federal, state, local, or military law enforcement training academy (proof of certification required) or graduated from a Federal or State corrections academy, (exclusive of the District of Columbia, (DC), which included firearms training and qualification to carry firearms
- Minimum of 18 months of law enforcement or Federal or State corrections experience (see above)
Background & Screening:
- Must successfully pass background, credit, and reference checks (10-year scope)
- Must meet physical fitness and medical screening standards as required
- Must pass drug screening and government-mandated background investigation
Core Competencies:
- Strong working knowledge of security operations and emergency response procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, lead teams, and write clear and detailed reports
- Ability to interpret and follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
- Professional conduct and composure under pressure
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
- High level of situational awareness and sound decision-making
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain on post up to 4 consecutive hours without food, water, or restroom breaks
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per shift, indoors and outdoors
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift, carry, and operate security equipment
- Exposure to inclement weather, emergencies, and high-stress situations
- Must maintain clear vision, hearing, and communication abilities at all times
