B&T Building Services is seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Assistant to support our operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks and is comfortable working in a shop environment, assisting on construction projects, and performing vehicle and equipment maintenance. This position is part time Monday - Friday 9am - 2pm starting at $16 - $18 an hour. This position does have the opportunity to go full time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and organize the shop and equipment regularly
- Assist with general construction tasks as needed on job sites
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and ensure company vehicles are in good condition
- Help with loading/unloading of equipment and materials
- Maintain an inventory of tools and supplies
- Ensure that all work areas are safe, clean, and in compliance with company standards
- Support the team with miscellaneous tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not required)
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
