Overview


Job Skills / Requirements

Individual needed to provide general care, handling and cleaning for stray and adoptable animals. Duties include:

  • Enforcement of all state laws and local ordinances pertaining to domestic animals
  • Greeting and assisting the public
  • Receiving and resolving complaints
  • Picking up stray and unwanted animals
  • Responding to emergency calls
  • Assisting with possible cruelty and abandonment investigations
Individual selected will also perform some kennel work, complete general office duties, assist with adoptions, return animals to owners, assist in cleaning and maintaining shelter and grounds, assist in euthanasia when necessary, and maintain all related records and paperwork. 

Position may include some limited evening, weekend, and holiday work.

Position requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Must live in Scott County or within close proximity to Georgetown to be able to respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes
  • Background check and valid driver’s license
Preference will be given to applicants with prior volunteer or work-related experience with animals.
