Job Skills / Requirements
We're seeking a dedicated individual to fill a part-time Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator/Security Officer role. This unique hybrid position offers the opportunity to leverage your technical skills in our state-of-the-art SOC while also providing on-site security presence.
Schedule: Wednesday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Location: Downtown Stamford, CT (High-Profile Corporate Location)
Compensation: $20 per hour
What You'll Do:
- SOC Operations:
- Continuously monitor security systems (access control, video surveillance, alarms) for potential threats.
- Analyze security alerts from various sources (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software).
- Assist in incident response, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Maintain detailed incident records and generate comprehensive reports.
- Stay informed on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure coordinated security responses.
- On-Site Security Officer Duties:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the property, employees, vendors, contractors, and guests.
- Screen and monitor guest entry, enforcing site procedures related to prohibited items.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, including descriptions of people and events.
- Resolve complaints professionally within your scope of authority, escalating to management when necessary.
- Conduct exterior patrols, maintaining a visible security presence.
- Display high level customer service skills.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum 1 year of stable security experience (exterior patrol preferred).
- Strong computer skills and technical aptitude.
- Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) is a plus.
- Valid CT Security Guard License (must remain valid for at least 3 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service and handle difficult situations professionally.
- Strong observation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical fitness to perform required duties, including lifting and carrying.
- Ability to work the specified part-time schedule (Wednesday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM).
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
- Integrity and reliability.
