Job Skills / Requirements

The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating sales that meet or exceed targeted revenue and profit objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create and successfully execute marketing and business development strategies that drive the generation of new business revenue that meets company and regional growth and financial objectives.
  • Understand the market for which BDR is responsible including market size, competitors, and status of all custodial contracts.
  • Have an intimate knowledge of all competitors including size, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, their value proposition (in comparison with Pondsco), management changes, new clients acquired, clients lost due to service or other reasons, marketing efforts, and pricing strategies.
  • Generate sales leads, coordinate site visits, attend bid walks, and respond to requests for proposals using customized and established templates.
  • Utilize pricing model in submitting cost estimates for new business opportunities.
  • Actively participate in customer business associations, attend trade shows and similar events, and serve on local custodial and business committees.
  • Maintain an active database of prospects (including grading each prospect and value of prospect/contract), sales calls, face-to-face meetings, breakfast/lunch/dinner meetings, status of custodial contracts, and status of all submitted information and RFPs using Pondsco’ s web-based client management system.
  • Finalize and close all new business opportunities; negotiate and finalize services agreement/contract; ensure operating team understands contract specifications so operating model meets all standards and requirements.
  • This position will manage and oversee the contracts they bring in, ensuring all aspects of the operations and financial oversight are met.

Position Qualifications

Experience

  • Five to seven years of sales experience in the contract facility or custodial services.
  • Strong and proven history of sales leadership in meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in building and maintaining long-term customer partnerships and client satisfaction.
  • Operations experience in facility cleaning is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience a plus, or a combination of both.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle.

Working Environment

  • Position holder works in a field environment.
  • Will be required to visit regional prospects and clients with varied environments and hazards depending on the vertical markets served.
  • Some travel (vehicle and flight) will be extensive depending on the size of the region.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of marketing materials and trade show booth containers.
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Sitting or driving for extended periods.
  • Walking for extensive periods during bid walk meetings.

Sales Support

Pondsco is currently utilizing ZOHO for their Sales CRM. BDRs will be trained in this CRM and be required to use it daily when making calls and customer contacts.

Marketing material will be used by each BDR to hand out and leave behind as they make B2B visits within their markets.
