SCOPE OF WORK: The Assistant Supervisor will provide support for a major client of ours at the Cadillac Place building in Detroit, MI. This position is responsible for the supervision and leadership of approximately 5-6 assigned officers at a site that requires security services 24/7/365. The Assistant Supervisor will work closely with the Site Supervisor and will provide leadership with managing employees, scheduling, meeting client needs, and all other duties as it relates to the needs of the account. The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for contributing to the overall goals and direction of our clients and the company as a whole.

 

WORKING SCHEDULE:

  • Primarily 1st / 2nd Shift

  • Set Schedule for Monday & Friday 10:30am-6:30pm Tuesday-Thursday 7:00am-3:00pm

  • 40+ hours/week (Full-Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Billable: Work 25+ hours per week in a billable, uniform capacity.  The vast majority of the position is operational, requiring the Assistant Supervisor to maintain a personal presence throughout the building
  • Supervision: Direct, supervise, and manage Security Officers at the site in the execution of appropriate strategies, consistent with law, Client and Company policy.
  • Site Training:  Oversee the training of all assigned officers and ensure they are appropriately and thoroughly carrying out all duties outlined in the site’s post guidelines.
  • Officer Grooming:  Ensure the appearance, grooming and physical image of all uniform security employees and event staff employees assigned to site are impeccable at all times.
  • Scheduling:  Ensure the work schedule is built 3-4 weeks in advance and that are shifts are properly filled.
  • Customer Service: Understand and require the performance of DK’s customer service GIFTS program with all assigned officers.
  • The daily duties of this position are determined by the client and may vary depending upon the needs of the site / client contact. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter; which will test for the use of legal and illegal drugs, including marijuana.
  • At least 2 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or security is preferred.
  • Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. These include the ability to read and write the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email. All scheduling and major employee communications will be communicated via email.
  • Must have impeccable grooming, while meeting the standards of our Appearance and Grooming policy.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be physically and mentally sound
    • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shifts, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
    • Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
    • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Note: Internal Candidates with an active disciplinary action in his/her personnel file will NOT be considered for this position.
