Inspects, repairs, and maintains buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe and functional operations. Key duties include preventative maintenance, basic electrical/plumbing repairs, painting, cleaning, and operating tools safely. They must follow safety protocols, document repairs, and often handle moving furniture or groundskeeping.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections of premises and equipment to identify issues.
- Repairs: Fixing plumbing leaks, electrical issues, broken tools, and minor structural damage (walls, doors, roofs).
- Preventative Care: Performing tasks like changing air filters, lubricating equipment, and cleaning.
- Groundskeeping: Maintaining exterior areas, including mowing, trash removal, and snow removal.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring all systems comply with building codes and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Keeping maintenance logs and writing reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of, or ability to learn, basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Tool Handling: Experience using hand tools (wrenches, saws) and power tools (drills, saws).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items, move furniture, and work in varied weather conditions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to address repair needs.
- Communication: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and report to supervisors.
