Competencias Laborales / Requisitos

WMJ Services is seeking a dedicated, collaborative Teacher Assistant to support students within Grandville Public Schools. In this role, you will partner with educators to foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. You will play a key role in supporting diverse learners, including students with special needs. The essential soft skills critical in this role are; patience, empathy, adaptability, communication, fostering independence and collaboration. Preferred qualifications:

• Two years of college or Associate's (or higher) degree or confirmation of passing the MTTC basic skills test or WorkKeys
• Experience with students with limited English language proficiency
• General understanding of special education and autism
• Experience working with students age 4-10

Minimal qualifications:

• Must complete fingerprinting required by Michigan State Licensing and the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
• Proven team player who works well with other educators

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers and staff
• Assist students with limited English proficiency
• Implement strategies for special education students

Standard school hours for this role. This role works 7 hours per day school days only.
