Overview

Reports To: Program Director

Classification: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Flexible 40 hr/week schedule. Must be available to work with the family as their schedule allows including non-traditional business hours such as some evenings and weekends including on-call availability.

Rate of Pay: $20.55/hour

Job Summary

In-Home Family Services is an evidence-based program designed to reduce risk of family disruption. This program utilizes in-home visits to build stronger family bonds, improve safety and connect families to community resources. These goals are accomplished through careful assessment and service planning, direct family engagement, implementation of relationship building, stress management and problem-solving strategies. 

 


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with assigned youth and families
  • Provide direct-care and in-home intervention to children, youth and their families using the In-Home Family Service Model (EIHFS)
  • Work to find positive solutions to problems and provide children and their families with skill-based support through the teaching of life skills and behavioral techniques
  • Facilitate assessment and service planning with the family
  • Teach and model skills to help support the needs of the family
  • Document all aspects of service delivery and monitor service outcomes
  • Assist the family in accessing informal supports and other community-based resources

 

Job Skills / Requirements

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology or closely related field, or a minimum of at least 2 years of related experience may be substituted for the degree preference
  • Experience working in a case management role with children and families
  • Must have a genuine interest in and concern for all youth and families
  • Strong relationship skills, organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Understanding of the underlying issues caused by trauma
  • Autonomous worker who can manage time wisely
  • Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the clients and families CEDARS serves

 

Education Requirements (Any)

Bachelor's Degree Preferred
