Job Skills / Requirements

Position Summary:    
Includes, but is not limited to, the installation, testing, maintenance and repair (routine and emergency) of electronic equipment to ensure the integrity and reliability of systems used for EMS, SCADA, networking, and telecommunications.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities: 
Installs, provisions, and maintains SCADA equipment, network equipment, communication equipment, power line carrier equipment, line tuners and special circuits used in system protective relaying, various type of AMI and DA equipment for member cooperatives, and fiber optic equipment. Performs site maintenance including site security, emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, high capacity battery systems, HVAC, dehydrators, and tower light control systems.  Available on call 24X7 for non-scheduled and emergency maintenance on Microwave, SCADA, and network systems.  Maintains firmware and software updates on all SCADA, microwave, network and test equipment. Performs FAA, FCC, and NERC mandated maintenance and manages documentation.  Prepares and maintains test reports, drawings and configuration files, and red line drawings showing changes made in the field.  Follows up on operational problems such as TVI, relocations and special projects through field trips, or communications with field personnel.  Requisitions and maintains inventory of replacement parts needed for repairs. Assists in the recommendation, purchase and control of spare parts for all electronic equipment.  Keeps abreast of new equipment and testing devices and makes recommendation on their use and/or purchase

Education and Experience Requirements:  
High School Diploma or equivalent Certificate.   Associate Degree in Electronics or a related technology or equivalent military training in an electronics discipline.  CompTia or equivalent networking training is desired

Physical and Environmental Requirements: 
Requires working inside in a controlled environment and outside in varying weather conditions. Requires working with and near high voltage. Requires lifting, pushing pulling or carrying of weights equal to 49 pounds or less.  Requires climbing ladders and stairs and working on elevated platforms or scaffolding Requires sitting for extended periods of time. Requires working overtime and traveling at times with short notice and possible overnight travel. Requires hearing within normal range, hearing aids are permitted. Requires vision within normal range, corrective lenses are permitted. Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Must reside within a 60 minute commute time.
