Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Training Manager to design, implement, and oversee the training and professional development programs for our security personnel. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of security operations and compliance requirements and be skilled in creating impactful training programs that enhance performance, promote safety, and ensure regulatory adherence.


Salary: 80,000 a year


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage training programs for new hires and current employees across all levels of the security team.
  • Design and deliver content on topics including physical security procedures, emergency response, customer service, de-escalation, workplace safety, and legal compliance.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, performance reviews, and field observations.
  • Maintain training records in compliance with industry standards, client contracts, and licensing/regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify skill gaps and implement targeted learning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as well as industry-specific requirements (e.g., OSHA, DHS, state licensing boards).
  • Lead the onboarding process for new security staff, ensuring readiness before deployment to client sites.
  • Monitor and adapt training to address evolving threats, technologies, and best practices in the security field.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in incident management, use of force, and crisis response protocols.
  • Evaluating individual and organizational performance to ensure training is meeting client needs and improving performance
  • Identifying training needs by consulting with stakeholders and using needs assessments
  • Developing and delivering training solutions that meet client needs
  • Optimizing training processes for efficiency
  • Selecting and managing resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training
  • Managing the technologies and technical personnel required to develop, manage and deliver training

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the security industry, with at least 2 years in training, leadership, or management role
  • Experience designing and facilitating learning programs, both in-person and virtual
  • Familiarity with state security officer licensing requirements and regulations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor diverse teams
  • Certification in training or instructional design is a plus
  • Washington State Guard Card (REQUIRED)
  • Washington State Certified Trainer Endorsement (REQUIRED)
  • Knowledge of learning and development best practices
  • A proven track record of training program development and management
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Law enforcement, military, or private security background
  • Conflict resolution and crisis intervention training
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS)

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office, classroom, and field settings
  • May require occasional travel to client sites or regional offices
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during training and field evaluations
