The security Captain will provide mobile and foot patrol of the property; traffic direction and control; physical security inspections of plant buildings and offices, detect and investigate violations in access control policies for employee, non-employee personnel, equipment, and vehicles entering and exiting the plant; detect and investigate policy violations, abnormal or unusual conditions concerning material being brought onto or removed from the property; investigation of vehicle accidents, property thefts, loss related incidents and other abnormal conditions; completion of all accident and security related reports and logs and any other reasonable related security tasks. The Captain will be equip able to work at all security posts on sight.
Reporting Chain: Captains are in charge of their shift. Lieutenants and Patrol Officers will report to their on-duty Captain.
Responsibilities
- Ensure they are familiar with, and comply, with Genric policies and procedures.
- Ensure you have the necessary equipment to preform your role.
- Ensure you adhere to Genric's/Client Driving Standards Policy.
- Complete vehicle inspection forms prior to and upon completion of your shift.
- Ensure all Time Sheets are accurately completed and submitted as per Genric's Policy.
- Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and legible manner: Incident Reports, Statement forms, Accident Reports.
- Ensure all Genric Log sheets are completed correctly.
- Conduct mobile patrols of the facility perimeter, checking all fences, gates and doors to ensure all barriers (fences, doors, gates) are secured as required.
- Ensure all parking violations are reported.
- Ensure no unauthorized vehicles/pedestrians gain access to the client's property.
- Ensure all emergency procedures are followed and documented.
- Assist, as directed by the Lieutenant or client associates in the event of an emergency situation.
- Conduct foot patrols of the facility, doors for signs of forced and unauthorized entry.
- Perform vehicle checks and execute them appropriately when necessary.
- Officers should be visually monitoring traffic, unauthorized personnel, and anything out of the ordinary.
- Professionalism is expected to be maintained while investigating, interacting, and/or confronting any associates, guests, and personnel at all times.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess security experience of at least two years
- Possess customer service experience of at least two years
- Possess supervisory experience of at least two years
- Possess steel mill experience is a huge plus
