Job Skills / Requirements

The Screening Contractor Training Representative (SCTR) is primarily responsible for the training of Screening Officers in accordance with our training program requirements and guidelines, including various software and systems. 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on-the-job training, including but not limited to requisite post-course practical training and refresher courses, Performance Improvement and Performance Expectation Plans (PIP/PER) and training requirements, and other security and customer service training (ex. practice sessions)
  • Monitor tests and assessments related to all elements of our training program
  • Supervise screening personnel's participation in practical skill development sessions
  • Implement training for new operating procedures and support new hire orientation training
  • Provide recommendations on certification maintenance
  • Develop rapport and credibility within Screening Officer population to increase effectiveness of training interactions
  • Demonstrate positive partnership with our client to support training programs
  • Facilitate refresher sessions, such as reviewing SOP changes, new operational bulletins / advisories, or new screening initiatives
  • Hands-on training, such as HHMD screening techniques
  • Increase the screening knowledge by providing specific certification training to the screening personnel population
  • Video briefings on the importance of the Screening Officer role; for example, showing events in the past relating to aviation screening
  • Facilitate other material as deemed operationally appropriate for the screening personnel
  • Perform other training team tasks as assigned
  • Travel to airports within the region
Requirements

  • Post secondary education in Adult Learning, Communications, Business Management, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Screening Officer experience Pre-boarding Screening (PBS)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in adult learning and training delivery
  • Ability to coach, correct and mentor Screening Officers
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment and independently
  • Strong attention to detail and quality with the ability to meet competing deadlines
  • Flexible to work within a 24/7 operation in which schedules could change as per training requirements and operation
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) 
  • Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) and Non-Passenger Screening (NPS) qualifications
  • Achieved 90% on National X-Ray Exam
  • Achieved 90% on PBS RLP Knowledge Exam
  • Free from any PERs within the last year
  • Fluency in French would be considered an asset
  • Aviation-related experience including working with various stakeholders within the aviation industry
  • Experience with Online Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000

This is a Full-Time position

Travel is required occasionally
