This position requires the employee to stand or walk while on duty, as it is situated within a retail store environment.

As a Security Emergency Response Officer, your primary responsibility will involve actively monitoring and patrolling assigned areas within the store. You will be attentive to all activities, observing customer behavior and staff interactions to identify suspicious actions. Maintaining clear and ongoing communication with the manager on duty is crucial, as this will facilitate immediate reporting of any unusual occurrences or potential security threats.

Additionally, this role requires you to monitor and respond promptly to security alarms, investigating any alerts to pinpoint potential theft or unauthorized access. Providing exemplary customer service is integral to this position; you will assist customers with inquiries or concerns, helping to create a positive shopping environment while remaining vigilant about security. Your ability to balance these duties will contribute significantly to the overall safety and integrity of the retail operations.

Qualifications:
• Must possess a valid NYS Security License
• Comfortable standing for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to remain vigilant and aware of surroundings.
• Professional, well-groomed appearance
• Wear a clean uniform, as provided by the security guard company.

Requirements:
The officer assigned to the CERT Team will be on standby for four-hour intervals. During these intervals, the officer may be reassigned to any available post. Consequently, it is essential that the officer remains available to work for the entirety of the day or shift, rather than solely for the additional designated four hours.
