What You’ll Be Doing (depending on the day!):

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, production/manufacturing environment

  • Daily exposure to dust, odor and potential dangers of tools and equipment in a typical machine shop/assembly production area

  • Prolonged standing and walking on hard surfaces

  • Frequent repetitive motions (e.g., bending, twisting, reaching)

  • May involve working at heights or in confined spaces

  • Safety glasses required to be worn at all times on production floor

  • Ability to wear a half-mask air purifying negative pressure respirator

  • Exposure to noise that may require hearing protection

  • Works with hazardous materials requiring mandatory safety protocols

  • Work is mainly in a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting (Some work may be in climate-controlled areas)

  • Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs. alone and up to 100 lbs. with assistance

  • Potential for electrical shock while testing equipment during the assembly process

  • Exposure to noise that may require hearing protection

  • A reasonable accommodation may be requested to enable individual to perform an essential function

  • Overtime may be required

Job Purpose     

Under moderate supervision perform all assembly, packaging, and inspection of all related products.  Performs product change over, setups, machine adjustment and preventative maintenance as required by SOPs.  Assist in training team members in all phases of operation and fills in where needed during peak production times or in the absence of other workers.


Job Functions and Responsibilities  

1. Assembles products using both operating equipment and hand tools in accordance with established procedures and work instructions, ensuring compliance with all ISO and FDA requirements. Accurately labels products, verifying the information aligns with the manufacturing order. Packages finished goods and conducts final quality tests to confirm all products meet required quality standards. 75%

2. Takes appropriate action when non-conformances are identified. 10%

3. Completes all required documentation and forms, including accurate data collection for products. Performs relevant ERP manufacturing transactions and cycle counts, while strictly adhering to all FDA-mandated Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 10%

4. Cross trains in other areas to provide additional support and coverage during peak production times. 5%

5. Performs all other functions or duties as assigned.

 


Job Requirements

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Worker Characteristics

  •  Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.      
  • Ability to read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or material requirements in order to assemble and finish products and equipment.
  • Ability to setup workstation to produce maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct testing and inspections of products and processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Thorough knowledge of all phases of assembly and testing for all equipment and FDA processes.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to manipulate and grasp, basic hand tools and assembly objects.
  • Record keeping skills needed to complete production reports, manufacturing orders and forms.
  • Ability to be flexible and open-minded.
  • Ability to self-train as needed
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to elicit factual information, discuss pros and cons, and then formulate the best solution that can be implemented.

 

Summary Education & Experience Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum (1) one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted.
