Job Skills / Requirements
Top Guard, Inc's security school, Coastal Virginia Training Academy, is hiring for a certified instructor to assist our training director with unarmed training classes in our 3 offices. They will be working out of our Norfolk Office where our main training school is located, but will need to travel to our Hampton office, Chesterfield office, and provide periodic unarmed training at some of our client locations in Roanoke, Richmond, and Dumfries.
Responsibilities:
Instruct 18-hour DCJS required entry level unarmed course (O1E Core Subjects Training) at various locations in Virginia, will include Saturday/Sunday classes
Must have knowledge of DCJS application process and ability to assists students with processing.
Must maintain records and training documents as required by DCJS (Department of Criminal Justice Services)
Ability to instruct 8-hour DCJS required Arrest Authority training (O5E)
Assist officers with DCJS/LOTUS application and/or renewal applications
Qualifications:
Must have an active DCJS (Department of Criminal Justice Services) Instructor certification for unarmed and arrest authority. Further certifications such as armed, CPR/AED, taser training, etc. preferred.
Excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills, knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
Preference: Prior experience teaching security guard training courses / Armed Instructor Certification
