Job Skills / Requirements

Summary:
Supervises work activities of janitorial personnel in commercial and industrial establishments. Assign duties, inspect work and investigate complaints regarding janitorial services and take corrective actions. Take weekly inventories, order supplies and train new employees.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Control expenses within area of responsibilities as well as evaluate and justify supplies, equipment and purchases as needed
• Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with the client and facility personnel to ascertain that their needs and requirements as related to the facility contract are being satisfied
• Building inspections at night
• Knowledge of Hard Floor Care and Carpet Care
• Maintain labor hours for each account as specified by Senior Management (no overtime)
• Buildings must be maintained to PJS standards as well as duties performed in accordance to contract specifications and frequencies
• Build positive working relationships with staff
• Employee timesheet’s turned in on a timely manner
• Ensure that all equipment is in safe working condition
• Ensure that all buildings are locked and secure; send nightly reports as required
• Confers with staff to resolve production and personnel problems
• Trains workers in janitorial methods, procedures and proper operation of equipment.
• Issues janitorial supplies and equipment to workers to ensure quality and timely delivery of services
• Inform Senior Management of the following personnel: accidents, breakage and employee problems
• Develop work schedules

Required Knowledge and Essential Skills:
• Be a team player and accept and evaluate criticism on facility conditions
• Willingness to learn and teach new skills
• Establish attention to detail
• Excellent communication (bilingual a plus), interpersonal and leadership abilities
• Strong planning and problem solving skills

Additional Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations
• Knowledge of building and property security procedures
• Ability to fill in where staffing is required
• Knowledge of qualities and uses of various cleaning: sanitizing, stripping, buffing, etc…

Additional Duties:
• Immediate response to company telephone calls on provided company smartphone
• On call and available 24/7 to resolve emergency issues
• Involved in all Contract Start Ups

Requirements:
Obtain a valid driver’s license and pass MVR background check
Have own transportation
• Pass drug test
• Pass background check
