Job Skills / Requirements

We are seeking motivated Security Officers to join our teams at healthcare facilities in Pemberton and Whistler.

Pay Rate: $24.00/hr
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts

$500 Hiring Bonus for OFA 2! If you are hired between May 20, 2024 - June 30, 2024 for one of these opportunities and you already have a valid OFA 2 certificate, you will receive a $500 bonus upon successful completion of your 3-month probationary period. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conduct regular foot patrols
  • Monitor CCTV cameras 
  • Provide first aid
  • Manage lost and found
  • Write detailed incident reports
  • Respond to alarms
  • De-escalate potentially violent situations
  • Interact with clients and the general public
 
YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE:
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal); confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
  • A passion for being active, since your patrols may be indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and can include stairwells, uneven surfaces, and parkades
  • Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift (8-hours average)
  • Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
  • A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations
  • Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radios
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 (or the willingness and ability to successfully complete this training with Paladin if hired)
